Things That Piss Me Off

I hope to make this a recurring column on my blog...today's edition:

Dumb, obscure programs that pointlessly require you to restart your computer to "update your settings" or some such garbage. Fuck you, Shockwave, ZoneAlarm, and I'm sure many more. If you seriously can't make your piece of crap program update itself without forcing somebody's entire goddamn computer to restart itself, then you are not earning the money that you make. Somebody is in the middle of something, they update some stupid program, and guess what?!?!? You have to restart your computer. Programs that do that are incredibly frustrating, unbelievably inefficient, and do little more than waste your time.
